For now, let it be clear that the NFL is an extremely large industry grossing several billions of dollars. They are millionaires that play for private planes, top quality health care – the best in fact; they have the best of everything.
However, a recent done paper shows that college athletes the food*hog* of these million-dollar athletes isn’t steak, lobster or sushi. Instead, hundreds of players in the NFL could happily devour Uncrustables if the sandwich-inspired spread beside them contained only lettuce and mayo. No seriously – Uncrustables.
Via The Athletic – NFL teams are going through a minimum of 80k of these frozen peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in a season.
Of these 32 teams that are part of the NFL, 24 of them gave consent to disclose this valuable information. It unveiled that Denver Broncos eat 700 Uncrustables per week, making it the most that any NFL team does. To that end, it>interested teams, which is over twice that of the other participating teams.
Well, you see, despite the presence of the protein, carbs, and fats within these BP & J sandwiches mentioned above, these are definitely not the best of health promoting foods that professional athletes should eat. However yet and still a large number of NFL players invest in them.
