This Sunday is one of the busiest in all of the NFL season, and one of the most intriguing match-ups within ruling is when two type-A teams face each other near Washington DC: Washington Commanders vs. Pittsburgh Steelers.
Pittsburgh Steelers (6-2) vs. Washington Commanders (7-2)

Before the NFL began its 2024 regular season, fans couldn’t have anticipated that a battle between the Commanders and Steelers would be important for a pair of division title hunts. This could arguably be a classic match up of a great defense and an even better offence but thanks to both different teams having ways of winning this is well set up.
The Steelers are coming off their season bye week and being hot on the heels of Wilson with a new quarterback in town. The average was above thirty points in wins against Las Vegas raiders, the New York Jets, and the New York Giants gving the Steelers so much momentum as they headed for the break. They have also not given the opposing teams more than 20 points in the last four games to suggest that Mike Tomlin still has a tough nut to crack defense.
The Steelers lead in the AFC North by a half game over the Baltimore Ravens.
That will be easier said than done for the rookie Jayden Daniels though and the Commander’s offence has not been on point on the 35 points per game average which was in place during the Commander’s four-game winning streak earlier in the season. Yet determination and excellent performance on the defensive end have taken Washington to three consecutive victories and getting closer to a playoffs spot.
The Commanders are first in the NFC East, half a game ahead of the Philadelphia Eagles.
Pittsburgh and Washington have faced each other 79 times with Washington winning 43 matches and losing 33 with three draws.
MY PICK: Steelers win, 24-21
