Another fan favorite of the participants was the former Georgia football kicker Rodrigo Blankenship with his thick goggles, personality and unusual level of accuracy.
Now, the quirky 27-year old from Marietta is using social media for the next shot at the NFL.
Blankenship is attempting to replicate the greatest kicking poses weekly of the NFL season and publishing the content on TikTok and Instagram until, he says, he secures an NFL tryout. He appeared in two games with Arizona in 2022 and went two for two in field goals, including one from 50 yards out, before being released.
He was undrafted, claimed by Indianapolis in 2020 and converted 32 of 37 field goals. The following year he made 11 of 14 field goals in five games before a hip injury put him on the injured reserve list for the rest of the season. The following year he actually played a game with Colts and two games with the Cardinals.
In the viral videos, Blankenship builds his holder tee, stands at the distance of the farthest kick and executes his choreography. He selects the show of at least several of the best performances that take place during the week to reenact. Last week he recreated the kicks from the cardinals chargers game which cameron dicker went 5 out of 5 on field goals and 59 yard field goal.
At Georgia, Blankenship was 200 for 200 on extra points and 80 of 97 on field goals. Georgia was down by two touchdowns going to halftime in the 2018 Rose Bowl because of his clutch 55-yard kick and helped lead the Bulldogs to an overtime victory.
His loophole was as a freshman when he wore the helmet over the goggles for a unique interview session.
