Ohio State Buckeyes have a bunch of alumni on NFL teams. College football: Ohio state’s all time best players include Ezekiel Elliott playing till date for the Dallas Cowboys.
Elliott is still liked by many Buckeyes traditionalists, who have been following the NFL for now eight and a half years of playing professional football.
However, the former Ohio State superstar running back who joined the Cowboys for the season is encountering some challenges there. Despite this, Elliott switched to the New England Patriots for one season, in 2023, then came back to the Cowboys during their 2024 campaign.
Well, it seems that things are not running so smoothly anymore.
From ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter report, Elliott failed to make the trip to accompany the team in the Cowboys’ Week 9 game. Schefter also states that he did not go to the game to watch the disciplinary measure.
Currently I have not come across any statements that indicate what the problems are that he has been punished for and we will not and guess what they might be.
Until now this season Elliott has completed seven games. Carrying the football he has done it 48 times for 149 yards and taking it across the end zone twice. He has also caught seven passes for forty yards.
Elliott is now 29 years old and for the last couple of years, we have seen instances where his age, and usage have begun to affect him.
He quite simply cannot be what he once was, the running back who carries the load and takes the hits. But the latter is very much a darling of Buckeyes fans and this will not change in any case.
Of course, during his time at Ohio State Elliott was nearly impossible to tackle when he was coming out of the back field. He played for Buckeyes his entire college career and he ranked 592 carries for 3,961 yards and 43TDs. For reference, Elliott also accounted for 58 receptions, 449 yards and one receiving touchdown in college.
I choose to highlight this bit because it will be fascinating to find out what the reason for his nonattendance will be all about. For now all that we can do is wait for more reports to know more details.
