To top it up the Steelers will have on their side the services of Cameron Sutton for the rest of the season.the season.
Sutton, who sat out eight games for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy, was able to have his suspension lifted on Tuesday. He is exempt on the roster with no liability towards the 53 man limit of the Steelers and can be plugged directly into the active roster if they deem him ready to go.
Sutton has started all 17 regular-season games and all three playoff games for the Lions last year and was released by the Lions in March when news surfaced that he had an arrest warrant out for his arrest in a domestic incident case and never surrendered himself to the authorities despite being at the team facility when the news became public.
For the Steelers, Sutton is a tempting mid-season prospect. Few teams can sign a starting-eligible cornerback at this stage of the season, but that is exactly what the Steelers have achieved.
