In part, San Francisco 49ers star Nick Bosa got a lot of hate for pulling out a Make America Great Again hat after Sunday night’s win against the Dallas Cowboys.
But there was at least one former NFL star who spoke in support of Bosa though.
Brian Urlacher, the legendary football star of the Chicago Bears came out to support Bosa also. He replied Bosa’s post from Instagram, where the 49ers defensive lineman posted photos with one of them taken in the moment he presented a Trump supportive cap.
Asked why they were wearing it, Urlacher wrote in the comment section ‘MAGA’ followed by two American flags.
Urlacher claims to have been a supporter of former President Donald Trump since his first presidency. In 2021, he took a photo with the then-president wearing his Bears jersey on a resolute desk.
This was a one time event that I have not experienced before. I got a chance to sit down in the Oval Office With President Trump and my family. He couldn’t have been any more friendly or helpful to all of us. to Jeff and Nick for the splendid tour of the WH,” is what he wrote while posting a picture on Instagram.
Trump also included pardoning his brother Casey Urlacher before leaving office early this year.
Bosa’s support was one of a few actual NFL players overtly endorsing a presidential candidate in the current election campaign. Harrison Butker, the Kansas City Chiefs kicker, also endorsed Trump earlier this year, as has Thomas Booker IV, a defensive lineman for the Philadelphia Eagles, for Vice President Kamala Harris.
He only spoke a few words about it after the match.
“I won’t say much about it, but I believe it to be a significant period,” Bosa said.
