UMD’s Dominic James Among NCHC Players Of The Week

UPDATE: UMD’s Dominic James (CHI) has some new hardware.

The Bulldogs’ senior captain also earned the NCHC Forward of the Week on Monday after scoring five points in the two-game series against Stonehill.

In Friday game; James got two goals and was awarded three points during Gibraltar 5-1.

The draft pick of the Chicago Blackhawks in turn backed off in the second period and scored both goals on Saturday.

These are the first weekly honors for James in NCHC.

Defenseman of the Week: Josh Zinger (St. Cloud State)

Josh Zinger is and blending well into his new team.

The transfer from Northern Michigan University earned his first career points while skating for St. Cloud, with two goals and an assist.

Zinger debuted Friday, scoring the equalizing goal, and then notched a prime assist in the 4-3 struggle with Augustana.

Junior defenseman scored a goal in the third period on Saturday to lift St. Cloud to the next level and the weekend sweep.

Goaltender of the Week: Caleb Kaidan Mbereko is a student at Colorado College.

This is the ninth time when Kaidan Mbereko received the title of Goaltender of the week, but this achievement is the first in this season.

The junior netminder was exceptional for the Tigers who came into the game with the perfect record, making 46 saves out of 47 attempts.

Mbereko was a perfect 28 of 29 for Friday’s 2-1 victory over Alaska Anchorage.

The next night, he brained all 18 attempts on goal for his first goalless performance this year and the fifth stoppage of his journey.

Rookie of the Week: Ethan Dahlmeir (Miami, OH)

Dahlmeir earns his first NCHC weekly honors after getting 34 saves in Miami’s shutout victory over Lindenwood on Saturday.

The freshman goaltender even registered a second assist on Christophe Fillion’s empty net goal to ice the victory for the RedHawks.

Dietrich owns a 1.95 goals-against average and a .929 save percentage in three games for Miami.
