See top-seeded Mater Dei face Orange Lutheran for the second time in its Southern Section regular season affair
The number one ranked Mater Dei Monarchs have one game left in the regular season where they hope to finish their season undefeated when they play Orange Lutheran in Southern Section clash on Friday.
Mater Dei has been ranked as the No.1 team in the SBLive/SI Top 25 national high school football rankings all season, and they proved why last week when they utterly thrashed then No. 2 St. John Bosco. But never underestimate Orange Lutheran though. The Lancers arrived at No. 17, falling out after a September loss to No. 5 Bishop Gorman (NV).

Mater Dei Monarchs (9-0)
Mater Dei sort of expected it as St. John Bosco embarrassed them with a 28-0 shutout when the two teams faced each other in the regular season last year.
Last week revenge would be an understatement as the Monarchs dismantled the Pride 59-14 the team from Mater Dei.
A week after that dominating performance, they will play what could be the last regular season game at home against Orange Lutheran Friday.
Orange Lutheran Lancers (7-2)
The only times this season that Lancers lost was against Bishop Gorman who was ranked top five across the nation at that point and then against St. John Bosco who only recently stood as one of the five best nationally.
Since then they have claimed three consecutive victories against the opponents that are ranked 13, and 10 in the South section high school football rankings this season and shut out No 10 Servite last week 38-0.
They will have their work cut out for them on Friday though if the Lancers can upset the rankings they will stun the nation and possibly be crowned share of the Trinity League champions.
