The Bridgeport Bulldogs were on top by eight at the break and dominated the second half over Alliance to claim the victory 55-30.
Bridgeport was ahead 23-15 at halftime and the first four points of the second half belonged to Alliance. But midway through the third quarter, Bridgeport located a grove converting the team’s own backcourt pressure into two straight turnovers and extending the lead to, 37-22.
Another 18 came in the fourth as the picked up the team’s tenth victory of the season, putting this year’s record at 10-1.
Tacey From scored a game-high 19 points for Bridgeport and accomplished 14 of those in the second half only. Junior Ella Schluterbusch led the team with 18 after scoring 11 in the first half. Remaining scorers for Bridgeport included: Kambrey Amateis – two, Jailyn Nichols, Morgan Abbott Samantha Hill – three, Olivia Brown – four, Elizabeth Velazquez – five, Elena Blanco – one.
Alliance was led by senior Macey Seabohm’s 10 points that she tallied in the upset bid before fouling out with 5:11 to play. For Alliance, Brooke Bailey had seven goals, Miah Marstellar scored three goals as did Paz Cody, Shyla Salcido and Kayel Lambert scored two goals and Addison Weber scored one goal.
Bridgeport returns to the playing court on Friday, January 17 at home against Kimball Longhorns. Alliance is also back in action next Friday as they go to Chadron.
