College football picks against the spread for Week 10 games

Getting ready for an exciting Week 10 of college football let us set the last predictions against the spread for the most anticipated games across the USA.

How are we doing? Our picks against the spread for College Football HQ won seven out of ten in the previous week, and it takes our overall 2024 season total up to 41 wins and 39 losses.

/As expected we said that Notre Dame will defeat Navy and that Ole Miss and Oklahoma will be closely matched.

However, we were surprised by LSU’s failure to triumph at Texas A&M and did not predict how narrow Nebraska’s loss would be to Ohio State.

Here, in aggregate, are the picks against the spread for the biggest games on this week’s college football schedule.

NCAA Football Predictions for week 10 Football Picks and Expert College Football Picks Against the Spread

Odds are from FanDuel Sportsbook and are accurate at the time of writing.

Duke at Miami

ATS pick: Duke +20.5 | While facing the 10th stiffest schedule in the nation, and holding each of its Power Four bout to within 10 of fewer points, it’s hard to think that Duke can’t give the Canes a match in the Dean Smith Center and behind a front line that produces enough points of negative to hold him from getting every shot he wants.

SI picks: Miami by 17

Kentucky at Tennessee

ATS pick: Tennessee -17.5 | A matchup of two bad offenses appears on the field at first and will be kept competetive, but Kentucky will never have a threatening aerial attack no matter who is their QB against UT’s lethal front seven which will stifle any hopes for the wildcats on the ground as well as their defense will be overwhelmed by simplicity of Jones’ runs and the occasional deep ball from UT’s freshman QB.

SI picks: Tennessee by 20

Texas Tech at Iowa State

ATS pick: Iowa State -13.5 | Tech had their quarterback briefly leave vs West Virginia, but should be fine for this game, Tech is one of the worst defenses in college football in terms for per-play basis(112 overall out of 134 teams) and are on the road against a Cyclones offence that ranks 40 th in the nation.

SI picks: Iowa State by 14

Ole Miss at Arkansas

ATS pick: Arkansas +7.5 | The Rebels have failed to cover in 3 of their last 4 games and is only 1-3 in their game against spread games in the SEC games against the balanced Razorback offence that won at home against Tennessee. Of note the Razorbacks are 4-1 both in games they have been an underdog in and in games they have played against a team from the SEC.

SI picks: Ole Miss by 7

Louisville at Clemson

ATS pick: Louisville +10.5 | The Cardinals are 0-2 against the spread as an underdog and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games but those have been close, by 10 or fewer in their last 5 and proved they could score in a shoot out when they played Miami.

SI picks: Clemson by 10

Pittsburgh at SMU

ATS pick: Syracuse -7 at Pittsburgh | Pittsburgh’s defense had a come-back against Syracuse last week taking 3 interceptions back for TDs, while the Mustangs have been generous giving away the ball lately; however SMU has a solid rushing attack that should dominate in a tough home field battle of the new ACC contenders.

SI picks: SMU by 3

Texas A&M at South Carolina

ATS pick: Texas A&M -3.5 | While the Aggies’ vertical attack isn’t as potent as it could be, there are still too many questions left unanswered about how effective they’d actually be Carolina is 108th in passing and 115th in yards per play defensively.

SI picks: Texas A&M by 6

Oregon at Michigan

ATS pick: Oregon -14.5 | Although it makes me feel like a jerk to take Michigan getting crushed by more than 2 TDs, at home, it easier to think of the Big Ten’s defensive bona fides, how nifty Oregon was with Ohio State secondary, how Michigan’s vertical threat looks horrific, and how the Ducks are getting better and better on the lines.

SI picks: Oregon by 17

Georgia vs. Florida

ATS pick: Georgia -14.5 | Our handicappers routinely dismiss the value of straight up point spread records, but since you asked: Georgia is 1-4 against the spread against SEC teams, 1-5 ATS as the favorite, among them 0-4 ATS when favored by 16 or more points So if this number had opened with a 16.5 point line, we might have gone with the Gators + the points, but

SI picks: Georgia by 16

Ohio State at Penn State

ATS pick: Ohio State -3.5; Even if we exclude turnovers and the Buckeyes’ injuries which sent their star left tackler off the field, there is a lot of concern regarding Ohio State’s O-line next to an eager Penn State front seven that averages minus plays. Although they present sufficient separation between themselves and the Buckeye receivers, there is enough of a skill gap for the latter to point to the Nittany Lions’ back seven tacklers as a credible weakness.

SI picks: Ohio State by 6
