Following breaking the attendance mark in May, the Welcome to Rockville music festival is now getting the ball rolling for the event’s return to the Daytona International Speedway in 2025.
Earlier Thursday, the event’s promoter in Los Angeles-based Danny Wimmer Presents announced the dates for next year’s event – May 15-18 – expected to take place on the Speedway’s sprawling infield.
“Escape to Daytona with Daytona Beach where the beats and energy are off the charts and the beat never stops,” that dictated a save-the-date announcement to fans and was followed by similar save-the-date blasts.
The annual four-day trade show that took place May 9- 12 had a record turnout of more than 200, 000 fans, the promoter stated. That bested the previous record of 170,000 people which was recorded last year in Daytona Beach festival.
The announcement on Thursday gave some hope of even higher expectations in 2025.
“Just wait until you see what we’ve got lined up,” it said. “This is music to the GLUTEN FREE ears we are laying the smack down, to make 2025 the biggest party of the year.”
People are going to have to wait a least a bit longer for updates on what bands have been confirmed for next year, however the promoter did mention that updates on pre-sale tickets will be arriving next week. Unfortunately, there is no word on the prices yet.
In May, the number was over two hundred thousand people, hardly overshadowed by scorching heat, to attend an event that was new in size in nearly all areas.
At least 150 bands, it was at least a significantly longer list than the 95 that played in 2023. They entertained on five platforms, one additional than the 2023 edition provided in a 180 acre Speedway infield.
